New separate blog?

This one feels a bit out of place for me.
I'm thinking of making a new one after this and starting over p:

It'll be more art-focused, too. I've gotten back into my artsy habit recently (:
More to come later, probably.

Summer hol summary, I suppose

Well... what an absence. Sorry for the long pause .-.;
But gosh, got quite a bit done in the holidays!

- went to Temburong, did some highland hiking.
- went to Philippines... oh so interesting :'D
- begun painting work.
- watched Usagi Drop anime. (Really good, in all honesty)
- planning new art projects.

Amongst other stuff I can't remember form 8 weeks ago. :\
I took photos from my phone on the 2 trips, but seem to have lost the USB connector again.
Once I find it, I'll post them up ♥

Also. Today was 3rd day back at a new year of school~
6th form is now a year away!
There's this feeling... something like supreme excitement (2-3yrs of school left!), and supreme worry (A-level exams, etc).
But its more of something along the lines of nervous excitement.. you get that feeling?
Before that, got exams for this year to pass first.

So now my work schedule is pumped up some notches already.
Expect longer blog delays. (Very sorry)
But try to expect more art... I'm currently in the middle of a very cute painting (!!!). Will get to it on Friday, and hope to finish it by Sunday, perhaps scan and post it up too.
Also making a separate website to archive my new upcoming artwork. (Still in progress.)

I've pledged to get a lot more done! This past while I've been pressured, but its all loosened up already, and homework is in good timing. Hope to keep this up for the rest of the year.

~ Current art projects planned/in progress ~
- Cute painting (~10% complete)
- Sketch/drawing (~45 complete)
- Cute scenario picture thing (~95% complete)
- Mini comic strip #1 (PLANNED)

Stray kitten dropped by our house!! o':

It looks like its roughly 4-5weeks old.
It's so darn cute, too!!
It has a cow pattern (black patches on white) w/ blue eyes. Looks like it has a stump right at its tail tip (?)

It made so much noise last night out our front door...
Just kept going "MEW! MEW! MEW!" one after another, day in day out ==;
It's much quieter now, though. It tries to lie down. Guessing it got separated from its mother early. ):

So we caged it for now to stop it going places.
When it gets noisy, it gets crazy and clinged on all the bars and just went "MEW! MEW!" again :c
But just went to give it some water (:
It stumbles so much... the poor thing.

I'm gonna make a sort of growth diary for it!
Something new, say, each week, and post updates here.
Gonna add photos later when camera's fully charged.

Check back for the latest!!
Other than that, got one more week till end of school year :D

Toodles.~

'Usagi Drop' opening!

Look what I happened by last night!

(click link to view.)

It just sounds so... fitting.
Puffy made a nice effort on the song here (:
Can't wait for their full-version release!!

More info to post when it comes!
Stay tuned.

Summer hols soon + Puffy new release!

2 more days this week, 5 more next week, and summer holidays for me begin! :D !
School year felt relatively short. GCSEs come faster than you'd think ):

I'm putting aside my other projects for now and Imma start a new one.
Its gonna be a sort of animation. Just asked pap to find and buy me a good enough program for my Macbook.

I'm thinking of a mini story, say, 3-5mins long, and based as sort of a silent film. (They're very interesting! (: )

Other than that,
went to try some archery last Sunday.
It's really fun!!
It kinda strains your upper arms, but it's worth it, if you get good shots and put in effort.
Mine were so-so, I suppose...
I plan to go there each weekend to train myself. I thin I found a new favourite sport.
Maybe I'll post some photos of the experience next time I go. (To fellow Bruneians, if you'd like the address, just email me [see side panel!] and I'll give it to you!)

Also!

If anybody happens to be a Puffy (AmiYumi) fan, then I've got some news for you!
They're gonna sing the theme song to the upcoming anime series 'Usagi Drop' called 'Sweet Drops'!!
I read an English ver. of the anime a friend of mine bought me a while ago, and it's very sweet!
It was really surprising to read about that the other day. Can't wait!
A short plot on the story; it's about a guy named Daikichi who finds this girl named Rin (very mysterious) and ends up having to look after her, as if a sort of guardian. (It's a sort of mellow hearty drama/slice of life story.)
Apparently, the anime's set to release on 8th of July (my last day of school!), with a live-action film on 20th August.

Check back for the latest!
Gotta go pee o':

New mini-blog in July!

Thaz right.
It's in correspondence with this special last week of school, where we spend 4 of 5 days doing one or more special activities (whether it be art, or going overseas, or sport, or harvesting sugar cane, or feasting on lima beans, or toilet-training orangutans) before the last day of school.

LOL jk.
But the first few things are what we usually do.

I'll be making furniture with a friend of mine! :p
A chair, that is. In 4 days.
Something different for a change, innit?

This new mini-blog is just gonna have, say, phase-by-phase or day-by-day updates on the progress.
Hopefully they all won't be plain and easy... like those ones you get at Ikea (most of which are now bloody expensive :p)
I'm thinking of a reclining chair, or a portable desk chair.

I'm also making a website of my own to better organise all the art/pics and stuff I put here into neat orders :D
It'll also house some other stuff.

Alongside that, keep checking back, for I'm gonna draw more stuff; particularly, stuff on my horoscope characters and profiles sometime :D:D:D
Toodle-loo.

ただいま-

1984 review some other time. Just ain't got the heart to do it right now =\

This week's been... annoying; tests galore, homework + revision pressure, hospital visits, and heard that an old friend of mine visited from overseas. But never got any call from her. And then she left. :s

It's painful to slowly lose friends like that. Especially if you've known them for a long time :s

But something a bit different; look at the critter below I found at school last week!
If you can't see, then just squint hard.
As my last year English teacher always said~

Also!
I'm drawing a special sort of picture project in my freetime! :D
It's for a good friend of mine, but anyone can see it.~
Sneak peek(?) below:

Plan to finish it by this weekend. It's gonna get many different parts. c:

Now, off to take on a mission.
Toodles~

Saturday 9 April 2011

DEAR DIARRHOEA:

Massages are THE shiznit, and you know it.
Don't deny it :D

Welllll, for starters, I've been thinking about publishing a book of some sort that's gonna feature both writing and illustrations by me.
Being 15 now, I feel as though I should get some money/do something useful in turn =\
Getting an early income would be great, if its possible.
I'm sick of the fact that my parents don't give us proper allowances to us, even at this age now :[ It just doesn't seem that right. They keep forgetting. (Terrible trait.)

What type of book to make, I don't know. :s
Bit doubtful over comic (too lengthy to do, even with colour).
A mini story compilation, I've been thinking of...
...as well as something for astrology (since I designed charas for each sign + find it pretty... interesting? :p Problem: skeptics out there).
Maybe a help book?
Dunno yet.
Something that the public is gonna like and want to buy.~

Also!
Dinnertime out in town was rather uncomfortable. :s
This waiter was just standing near this counter on the other side of the room staring at the patrons nearby, and he fiddled about like some bored 5 year-old, twiddling this thumbs and swaying around like he can't control the ants in his pants or something.
Seriously? Wtf?
Shouldn't he be doing something useful?
How can you eat when somebody just stares at you for the whole meal long?
ESPECIALLY if its a waiter/stranger?
Doesn't mummy ever say how staring like that is rude????
What happened to good morals?!
Go watch a little MTV. It'll tell you EXACTLY what I mean.
I ended up having only half a pizza slice and half my drink from being so disturbed ¬¬;

Oh! And that new movie 'Rio' was a stunner!
Those birds were simply deliciously adorable and the cololololours of them all seemed so... yummy.
:'D
And it was a nice idea to have it set in South America. (What other animated movies do you know that have been set there? Exactly my point.)
I don't think movies with smugglers, tropical birds and a country like Brazil will ever be put together again.
Also, waiting for 'Hop' to be released here sometime soon~

Next post: book review on '1984' by G. Orwell!
Not done reading it yet, but really good so far.
As well as really sorrowful T.T
It's very grey, the story. But imaginatively written. Love it.

If any of you are still up reading this,
I thank ya.
Sorry for writing more than usual and I appreciate your patience to read everything(?) here. :D
I'll try cut it down next time.

Byebye, my fickle little fiddlesticks!!! :D:D:D

Saturday 2 April 2011

Supercalifragilisticexpialidociousness c:

O Lawdy!
This pic is a bit over a year old now :p
Back from the time we studied Macbeth.

Call me a literature dork if you will, BUT I happen to find that play rather... interesting. c:
Gaaaaaawd, gotta do a newer version of something like this. The style's changed quite a bit since.
To many they might call it awesome,
To me I (now) find it... blegh :s

And now for something completely different, kiddies:
Mary Poppins was an epic classic.
That movie could kick the butt off any new movie you'd see today, that's for absolute certain :p
As would Monty Python's 'Quest for the Holy Grail'.
'cause you don't see screwed-up credits, a talking cartoon God or paraplegic knights anywhere else, that's for sure! :'D

Click here to see those 'credits' for the movie!

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I'm thinking of building a website to post more stuff, but not as cluttered-up as here.
Like a page for drawings, another for tributes (I love giving to people!) and perhaps other stuff you won't find here.
I'll consider something.

MEANWHILE:
was GOING to prank brother with fake s**t for April Fools' yesterday.
No, really!
We had a can that was called something like 'Can of Smelly S**t' that my dad kept when he used to prank his own colleagues (LOL!)
It was like, SUPREMELY pungent/rank/stinky/gross/foul-smelling. And its got a texture like whipped cream, but brown and really 'UGH!' in texture. SRSLY
I found the can and it turned out to be empty :\
(Not a prank, apparently my dad said it ran out a while ago =A=; )
Bummer. Such a good idea, too.

Still can't stop playing 'Ai no Odyssey' (by Puffy AmiYumi)!
It's like a big hunky bowl of Maggi noodle soup.
I... can't stop having it.

School on Monday. ghsjadgjhagfhjgafhgdfahgdgasfasassdff
Best be going to take a mini break :p
Take care, you little wondrous scamps :3

Snappy and snazzy shiznit stuff

I've been hassling her for this CD online for the past few weeks.
She's been ignoring my reminders and keeps putting it off till later, just because "she forgot".
GAWD!
It's annoying! It was supposed to be a birthday present, but now its almost April and I'm beginning to lost my trust in her. She doesn't seem serious at all in buying it :\
So I decided to download it out of loss of patience with her. ¬¬;
I hate downloading stuff.
You just get a sense of guilt form it somehow.
(But I bet some of you don't, amirite?)

AAAAAANYWAY!
The holidays are so good so far.
'Hop' looks splendidly splendid (and not to mention gosh-darn CUTE!) and hopefully gonna watch it sometime this weekend.~
Plus I seem to've been hooked into Chibi Maruko-Chan... really cool anime, gotta admit.

It's plain, simple, and pretty amusing. A slice-of-life story, a bit like the Simpsons somehow, but set in 1970's Japan (I believe? From the way the places look) and for kids.
I like how its not all as 'teeny' as most other anime. Seeing 9 year-olds is a nice change.
But some things even a teen will understand... yes, there are some rather 'funny' occurrences, like seeing a character smoke or get drunk (Maruko's dad always does this!) :'D
GAWD! And her classmates/friends are awesome!
I mean, really. Tamae reminds me of my bff. Hanawa/Maruo/Hamaji remind me of other kids I knew, too. o:
Brings back memories D:

Aaaaaahhh.
Hate to say it, but the album right now is so cool so far.
In case you wondered, it's 'Thank You!' released by Puffy earlier this month.
And the thing my mommah kept 'forgetting' to get ==;
The songs are like, sweet and sour; rock here, swishy pop there, with some Andy Sturmer and '80s influence put in (amongst other goodie-goodies!)

Weeelllllll, absurd post this is. I like writing a lot, though.
It gives a nice sort of unexplainable feeling...
Along with the song I'm listening to right now, 'Haru no Uta' ('Song of Springtime') makes it all the more nice c=

Stay sweet/sour, my little jellybeans!! :D:D:D
G'nite.

Holy shiznit!
Now the song's on 'Ai no Odyssey' ('Love Odyssey')!
IT'S KICKASS!
It was played on Cartoon Network once for a small bit and the whole song so far is amazingly metal/poppy/just... epic!
Maybe I'll post a download link for you guys to hear, if you like.

。。。
+ PICTURE NEXT POST
I SWEAR TO GOD THIS TIME. I APOLOGISE ;-;

Thursday 17 March 2011

Not anymore!

Yesterday was terrible, gotta admit.
But that pretty much went into complete reverse today!
My birthday was super!! Celebrated at school with friends and ate (a surprise) cake!
'twas fun. The fact that it was casual-clothes day made it all the more merrier for everyone, too, and it was really worth it =)

Got some awesome presents; candy (yuuuuuuum!!!), art tools (canvases and acrylics!), books (some good classics!) and clothes, amongst others.
I feel like using them all, but itsa school night. And gotta sleep early =\
Not officially 15 until 9:18pm, so thats about another 15mins-ish to go!
Making the last of being 14.

Also, currently re-reading 'To Kill a Mockingbird' alongside '1984'. The former I haven't read in half a year almost and forgot most of the story. Never got to finish it. The latter I find a really good read from Orwell (from his 'Animal Farm' which I studied 2 years ago; another awesomesauce book).
When I read these types of books, I always imagine the characters in my cartoon form and I then begin to wonder about animating something similar sometime...
Everyone loves my cartooning, so I'll consider trying it out sometime.
So long as a good animation program for Mac exists somewhere .-.

Perhaps a book review on the next post.
No pics, since the uploader seems to be having problems uploading =.=;

Term break after school tomorrow!!!
Can't wait!
Lasts until April.
But it'll be past April Fools' Day =\
Daymnnn. Was thinking of pranking some people.

Wednesday 16 March 2011

This sucks.

Well, have I got a ton of probs on my chest recently;

a) school.
b) my brother.
c) recent attitude.

My tests at school so far turn out more terrible than I thought. I find it hard to keep up.
My brother keeps bitching to me about unimportant things and argues with me, trying too hard to be like my dad; he just wants to get to be right about everything he says. Dumb arrogant bastard. He's 2 years younger than me. WHY oh WHY wasn't he ever been taught anything on respect for others?
For some reason I've become more sulky, i.e. my friends talk to me less and less since new kids come in, and now I feel left out in class stuff, though they do 'talk' to me after class only. ¬¬ It's very disheartening and a bit stupid to do to others, imo. I feel like a background object.

I feel so unimportant somehow. I feel only 'adored' when I
a) draw stuff.
b) do something else others can't do.
c) ...dunno. Anything with art almost.

Hopefully it'll all clear up tomorrow, since it'll be my birthday.
But there's this annoying feeling, like where everyone says that usual 'happy birthday!' when you pass by. But they never pay similar attention on all the other 364/5 days...

I do hate feeling like this, but writing it here gets it all off somehow.
NOTE: I'm not 'emo'. This isn't me. But these moments do come, and it sucks big time to have to deal with. And I don't label people, so I see no reason as to why I should be labeled as such.

Well, its been nice to write again after ages.
I think I'll just go get a drink or something.~
Might come back to submit pics again, seeing as I also found my phone's USB cable.

Pattern drawing + a lazy Saturday

Something drawn about 2, 3 months ago. ^
Not sure if its been posted already but got the feeling I didn't yet.

Nothing better than sleeping in on a Saturday morning.
Especially since I couldn't sleep until 2am yesterday --;

Ooooh, and I got a glimpse of a show on NHK ('Living Well At 100') and heard Puffy'sこれが私の生きる道 (Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi) play on start and end clips!
I'm a huge fan of Puffy. ★ ★ ★
From what was said in the show, its pretty interesting, too. 100+year-old residents really do know how to live :D Very amusing and unique.

Might draw later.
But gotta go catch that darn cat again. (Very hyper atm.)

Thursday 17 February 2011

I [had] a dream(???)

No, wait, sorry, rephrase that; 'nightmare'.
It was... supremely terrible. Ended up a really anxious since then...
Very hard to describe, but it was genuinely just horrible. Everything seemed decrepit and spooky all alone and it seemed cold, though this was during sleep. Something about a dead guy's abandoned upstairs apartment and exploring it in silence... buh that's all I remember ):
Woke up and was sweaty instead. AC was turned off, turned out. Really bizarre :\

In other news.
...
Rainy season continues on 'till who knows when.
It's actually quite lovely as a break from constant daytime heat~ =)
'cause without it, Brunei may as well become a new desert (hahaha!). (But I guess it'd be cool to live in a desert for a little change, y'know?)

Finished Memoirs of a Geisha a week or so ago, too. Splendid ending. :'D
Might spend weekend digging out the movie and watching it. :p

What a boring post.
Check the next one for picture scans. Currently drawing neat stuff atm :D

DVD stuck in Macbook? I gots tips to help! :D

Okay, so this was a pretty new (and infuriating :\) experience for my Mac's [super] hard drive. :s
You know, you just happen to watch a new DVD or burn/listen to a CD and it just won't spit it out when you've tried to push 'eject' at least 20 times [in a row].
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFU-
Well, no fear! I have some help for that:

Tip 1: reboot, click.
Reboot your Macbook. As soon as you hear the opening chime, click straight away (works for both trackpads and USB mice). This should force-eject the CD.

Tip 2: 'drutil tray eject'.
If that fails, try going to 'Applications' -> 'Utilities' -> 'Terminal'.
Then type in drutil tray eject and press enter; from here it should try to force-eject. (You can try as much as you like; it shouldn't stress the Macbook.)

Tip 3: card jam
Try to reach for a thin-thick card of some sort (credit cards work best, but since I don't own one, I just took a bookmark instead). Press the 'eject' button, and just jam it in there until you feel it against the CD, and try to drag it out.

Tip 4: tilt, card-jam
This worked for me.~ Pick up the laptop and tilt it at a 90-degree angle, then shove in a piece of card during 'eject' until the force lets the CD drop out a bit, and pull it out the best you can. This should work if the above don't.

I don't know what else there is to it; if all else fails, then try to search for more on Google or take it to a repair shop. :s
If shoving in with a piece of card, don't do it forcefully, since this might just wind up in scratching the CD (not good). Fortunately, my DVD doesn't seem to be scratched badly after more than 30 tries :'3

Strange for a post of mine, I know, but I felt like it, since I hear more people complain about this recently. e.e;

Tuesday 1 February 2011

4-day term break = bs.

Indeed.
Including CNY, that's just plain unfair :\
Well, at least the next half of term's gonna end a day after my birthday (YYY)

Also continuing 'Memoirs of a Geisha'.
Really getting to the peaks of the story~
After that I think I'll read 1984 again, then review.

Nothing much else...
Except, I've been messing with ants and bugs recently.
I like to group them up and feed sugar cubes to them with tweezers.
It's so... amusing c':

~Book review~ Memoirs of a Geisha

Okey dokey~ I just wanna spend a second to say I lurve reading. :D
I'll be making occasional posts on stuff I've read/am reading.
NOTE: I'll now be posting creepypastas on random days. Not (necessarily) Saturdays. Sorry...
And now for the review (excuse the geeky English, but I'm just practicing to brush up on this):

Memoirs of a Geisha really goes into utmost depth concerning the life of a Japanese girl who goes by the cute name of 'Chiyo' . Once a member of Yoroido, a poor fishing village, she then ends up being taken away from a person with whom she had trust for and winds up becoming a maid, then trains to become a geisha, in the town of Gion in Kyoto, where many geisha thrived.
So far, so supremely stupendous- the author makes the story seem as though they have experienced it themselves. (Whether because the story is also in first-person perspective, I don't know, but it's very convincing nonetheless).~
The only little hiccup here is that the author isn't Japanese, but American.
The story contains details and descriptive facts on factors of traditional Japanese life that know no bounds; most are very inspiring and teach something new, such as that nightingale droppings were used as a sort of base cream when applying make-up upon a geishas face (no joke!).
It also tends to really pull heartstrings in certain moments. There are numerous deaths that occur (but I won't tell them here, just to not spoil the story for anyone :3).
Although I've yet another half to cover, the tale is getting all the more interesting and engaging to uncover. The fact that it's a genre concerning Japanese history (manga/anime is a little too... ovverrated right now, doncha think?) stirred in with memories told form a real-life retired geisha, named Nitta Sayuri, was what made me have the urge to read it.

WHOA, MAMA!
What a review. D':
But tbh this really is a super book. Do give it a read sometime =D
Next post will be on updates.
